Pre-Primary Teaching Assistant for Fall 2008- Full time assistant for Pre-Primary class, ages 3-4. You will assist the lead teacher in all aspects of a class of 16, as well as the before and after-school programs. Hours are 8am-5pm with appropriate breaks. This is a school day-school year program, so corresponding holidays and vacations are taken. Candidate must have experience caring for young children. Early Childhood Certification is preferred, but not required. Primary Teacher’s Aid for Fall 2008- This is a part-time position consisting mostly of mornings, assisting the teacher in the Primary classroom. You will follow her lead while assisting and participating in a full range of physical, artistic and academic activities. Previous, similar experience in a classroom, childcare or camp environment required. You must be energetic and physically fit. This is also an excellent opportunity to receive training in our unique arts-based, integrated approach to education. Elementary Teacher Grade 3/4, Fall 2008- This is a one year position as the homeroom teacher for a single class of grade 3 and 4 children, with a small class size and in an intimate environment. In addition to a Bachelor of Education degree, the candidate should have a background conducive to an arts-based approach, including visual arts, story-telling, music, movement and handwork. Training in Waldorf or Enki curriculum would be ideal. Some additional training in the arts-based aspect will be provided and required. Although this is a one year position for a teacher on leave, a successful year would very favourably position this person for any future elementary openings.
