The Shambhala School offers a full range of university preparatory classes in the arts and traditional academics in the context of small classes. Faculty strive to enrich the courses through inviting speakers and experts from various fields, along with developing activities outside of the school to enhance their studies. Men's and Women's groups invite guest speakers and meet regularly to discuss pertinent topics. Students display their artwork and drama and music performances occur throughout the year. High School provides the opportunity for students to continue their education in an intimate and supportive environment. The emphasis at this level is on academics and refinement of artistic abilities as one prepares for university or other opportunities following graduation.
The school curriculum is approved by the Nova Scotia Department of Education and meets the requirements for issuing a High School Diploma, ensuring that universities and colleges of interest to students accept the school's marks and courses. Graduates of the Shambhala School have excelled at universities in Canada, the United States, and Australia. The school welcomes and encourages students from outside of Canada to attend the school and has enjoyed the presence of students from a number of European and Asian countries to date.
